Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Novadaur Inc., a Vermont nonprofit corporation (“Novadaur,” “we,” “us”). They cover your use of novadaur.com and the tools on it, including petitions, email signups, and donation forms. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the site.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
Who can use the site
You must be at least 13 years old to submit information through our forms. If you’re under 18, get a parent’s or guardian’s permission before signing a petition or donating.
Petitions and advocacy tools
When you sign a petition or use a tool that contacts an elected official:
- You confirm the information you enter is accurate and is your own.
- You understand your name and location will be delivered to the officials the petition addresses, as described in our privacy policy.
- You agree not to sign on someone else’s behalf without their permission.
Our petitions state Novadaur’s positions. Signing one doesn’t make you a member, agent, or representative of Novadaur.
Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe under its own terms. Novadaur Inc. is a Vermont nonprofit corporation, but it does not currently hold federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. That means donations are not tax-deductible at this time. If that changes, we’ll update this page and our donation forms. You’ll receive a receipt by email.
Donations are final. If you made an error, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate charge, email info@novadaur.com within 30 days and we’ll work with you to correct it.
Surveys and calculators
Surveys. Taking one of our surveys is voluntary. By responding, you give us permission to use your answers in our research and advocacy. We report findings in aggregate and won’t publish your individual response with your name attached.
Calculators. Our calculators, including our electric vehicle cost-of-ownership tools, produce estimates, not quotes. The benchmarks behind them (fuel prices, electricity rates, vehicle prices, typical mileage) reflect our best estimates for your region at the time we last updated the tool. Real prices change and vary by location, so your actual costs will differ. A calculator result isn’t financial advice and isn’t a promise of savings. Check current local prices before making a purchase decision.
Rebate coupons
Some of our calculator apps offer rebate coupons. Coupons are limited to one per person and one per vehicle. To claim one, you must provide accurate vehicle identification details and, if asked, a scan of your vehicle’s identification document. We can refuse or cancel a coupon if we believe a claim is a duplicate, false, or fraudulent. Each coupon’s own conditions (amount, expiration date, and where it can be used) apply, and coupons have no cash value unless the coupon itself says otherwise. We can change or end a rebate program at any time, though we’ll honor coupons already issued under their stated conditions.
Prize draws
Some surveys offer a prize drawn from among respondents. Each drawing has its own stated rules covering eligibility, the prize, and how the winner is chosen. Drawings run through Meta platforms are not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Meta. We’ll contact the winner at the email address they provided. If a winner doesn’t respond within 14 days, we can select another winner. No purchase or donation is ever required to enter.
Our content
The text, graphics, logos, and other content on this site belong to Novadaur or our licensors. You may share, quote, and link to our campaign content for personal, educational, journalistic, or advocacy purposes, with attribution to Novadaur. You may not use our name or logo to suggest we endorse you, your product, or your organization without written permission.
What you submit
If you send us content through our forms, such as a message, a comment, or a story about your experience, you give us permission to use it in our advocacy work. We’ll ask before attaching your full name to anything we publish. You keep ownership of what you write.
Don’t submit anything unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break any law while using the site
- Impersonate another person in our forms
- Submit false signatures or automated form entries
- Scrape, harvest, or collect other users’ information
- Interfere with the site’s operation or security
- Use the site to send spam or malware
We can block access or remove submissions that violate these rules.
Third-party links and services
The site links to third-party sites and runs on third-party services, including Action Network and Stripe. We don’t control those services, and their terms apply when you use them. We’re not responsible for their content or practices.
No professional advice
Our content is for public education and advocacy. It isn’t legal, financial, or technical advice. Policy positions and statistics reflect our best understanding at the time of publication and may change as facts change.
Disclaimer
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or secure, and we make no warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows us to disclaim them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Novadaur Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim related to the site won’t exceed $100 or the amount you donated in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnification
If your violation of these terms causes a claim against Novadaur, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and damages from that claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Vermont.
If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest of the terms stay in effect. These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and Novadaur about the site. If we don’t enforce a term in one case, that doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
